Graduate Recruitment Grant

The Graduate Recruitment Grant awards up to $2000.00 to supplement ongoing graduate recruitment in UNM academic departments. Examples of recruitment activities eligible for funding include bringing potential students to UNM for on-campus visits, targeted mailings, advertisements, tables/receptions at professional conferences, events targeted at seniors in your own department, purchasing of databases, and purchasing of names of prospective graduate students from GRE or other sources. Other innovative ideas may also be considered.

Application Materials.  Submit application documents addressed to the Graduate Recruitment Grant Committee by March 1, 2013 to

Materials to be included in the application packet:

  1. A 500- to 750-word proposal describing current recruiting activities in the department, as well as a detailed description of the proposed activity for which funding is sought.
  2. A detailed budget.
  3. Data for graduate degree program’s applications, acceptances, and enrollments for the most recent three years.

Reporting requirements. Funds should be expended by the end of Spring 2013 semester. By 1 May 2013, a brief report should be sent to the Dean of Graduate Studies assessing the effectiveness of the funded recruiting activity, including an update of the application, acceptance, and enrollment data for the target program(s).
