Graduate Advisement

Individual graduate units and programs take primary responsibility for graduate advisement at the University of New Mexico.

The Office of Graduate Studies advises graduate students on thesis and dissertation preparation and formatting, and our Program Advancement and Completion Team provide guidance on meeting requirements for graduation.

For assistance with assistantships contact the Assistantship and Contract Team, and for assistance with scholarships and fellowships contact Margaret Gonzales.

Questions about admissions and financial aid should be addressed to those offices, and if you wish to receive general advice about career choices and preparation you may visit Career Services.

The Graduate Resource Center also provides workshops and consultations about how to succeed in graduate school; the Graduate Student Funding Initiative offers support and training in grant writing, research ethics, and serving as a Principal Investigator; and the GPSA and PNMGC offer a variety of forms of support, advocacy, peer mentoring, and community building.
